Powerful Schools

Powerful Schools was founded in 1991 and is devoted to helping schools and communities overcome the achievement gap. With a hands-on approach, Powerful Schools has worked and still works with districts to ensure that children succeed through literacy, arts, after-school and leadership programs. With an emphasis on literacy skills, it devises programs that work for children, teachers and parents alike — an approach which is now being employed across the nation. As an organization, it understands that schools cannot succeed without a supportive community of teachers, tutors, parents and neighbors. It unites the community to transform schools into serious learning centers. It accepts donations of all sorts, car donations included. The vehicle donation program is overseen by DonationLine.com. Funds raised help to continue the work of reducing the academic achievement gap among schools and students, which in turn sets students for success in and outside school.
