The Military Order of the Purple Heart

The Military Order of the Purple Heart was established in 1932 for the protection of mutual interest of all who have received the Purple Heart award. Its mission is to assist all veterans, their widows and orphan children. The organization is exclusively for Purple Heart recipients who were combat veterans.

Fairfax County Park Foundation

The Fairfax County Park Foundation is located in Fairfax, Virginia. It is a not for profit organization that raises funds for some of the best public parks in Virginia. It operates on donations from private individuals and bodies. It is a foundation that recognizes the utmost importance of free parks in relation to the quality of people’s lives. The organization raises funds for public parks, playgrounds, and trails. Board of directors is made up of volunteers and leaders from the local community. It is dedicated to preserving the limited open space that is left in the community. In general, Fairfax County Park Foundation exists so as to obtain and provide funding where the traditional Park Authority can not. Funds are raised and transferred to the Park Authority, which is then used to maintain and keep Fairfax’s parks open to the public.

Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) was formed in 2012 as the result of a merger between the Food Allergy Initiative (FAI) and the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN). The new organization combined FAI’s leadership as the world’s largest funding for food allergy research with FAAN’s expertise as the most trusted source of food allergy resources, information and programs. Today, FARE is the organization working on behalf of the 15 million Americans with food allergy and all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis.

Lackey Clinic

The Lackey Clinic was founded in 1995 by James and Cooka Shaw. The clinic started as a collaborative effort between them and the Rising Sun Baptist church. The clinic provides people with no health insurance free medical care. It is a non profit organization whose volunteers take the time to see the uninsured and low income patients.

Boat Owners Association of The United States

BoatUS has served American boaters since 1966. It has provided service, savings, and environmental advocacy on behalf of boaters. Using the strength of its membership to ensure that boaters have a voice. BoatUS has helped enact laws and business practices that impact everything from diesel fuel prices to taxes on boaters, to financing and consumer protection. From boat-buying services to safety information and everything in between — boaters love BoatUS because it knows boats. BoatUS Foundation (for Boating Safety & Clean Water) is in collaboration with Action Donation Services to allow supporters to donate their vehicles to the foundation. Proceeds from the vehicles go towards advocating for safe and environmentally conscious boating. The foundation aims to help reduce accidents and fatalities, while at the same time keeping boating safe and enjoyable.
