The People’s City Mission is dedicated to helping individuals and families in need of shelter or support. It operates a facility that is made up of single family rooms and community rooms, so as to meet the personal needs of different individuals. The facility also include laundry rooms, lounges, dining room, nursery & play area, informal library, and a chapel. Additionally, it administer programs such as Club E.D.E.F.Y., which involves meeting the needs of homeless children — socially and emotionally. The HIS Center For Men provides overnight shelter for men, while Day Watch provides a place to spend time during the day. Curtis Center for Transitional Living shelters 60 men, each resident is enrolled in one of four tracks of study including Vocational, Recovery, Educational, and Spiritual. The organization also offers a medical clinic that provides uninsured residents who are low-income or homeless with the health care they need.

The Cat House

The Cat House is a non-profit organization that is devoted to the adoption of stray cats and kittens. It is staffed by dedicated volunteers and has found loving homes for countless cats. The organization also administers the Nebraska Alley Cat Assistance program that helps to remove feral cats in the local community, some of which become adoptable pets. The program offers solutions to feral cat problems which have been proven to be more effective and humane than the traditional trap and kill policies. Siena/Francis House

Siena/Francis House is a charitable organization that serves the poor. It is an association that provides the homeless with shelter, food, clothing and medical care. The program Shelter Nurses allows shelter residents to receive medical attention three times a week. For its Meal Provider program, it partners with local, retail/wholesale grocery stores, schools, food manufacturing companies, churches and households to acquire and provide meals throughout the day, from breakfast through dinner. The goal is to make the homeless individuals or families focused on self-sufficiency, achieved by the means of its in-house employment training program which trains adults in the kitchen, as well as through meal preparation, loading dock, maintenance and front desk. The organization also aims to brighten the lives of the addicted homeless through its residential addiction recovery program. All these programs are provided with the sole purpose of serving and addressing problems of the underprivileged.
