YWCA Missoula

The YWCA Missoula was founded to help women and families moving out of crisis and providing them opportunity and self-sufficiency. It also promotes justice, peace, and dignity for everyone. Missoula’s YWCA offers services for the homeless including emergency and transitional housing, crisis and support counseling for the victims of domestic violence, support for victims of sexual violence, support groups for relationships and children. Programs include GUTS (Girls Using Their Strengths) which is a leadership and empowerment program for girls from 11 to 18 years of age. Planet Kids offers a safe environment for court-ordered and voluntary visits for children and their parents. The program allows custodial and non-custodial parents to both spend time with the child. The YWCA’s Mission Statement reads: “We are dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all”.
